This blog no more….
I’ve been giving it a lot of thought, and I’m going to combine my blogs over at Cathie Cooks Food. I’m not going to concentrate on TV so much, but more on food, which I’m really enjoying photographing and writing about, and also my family and my thoughts on stuff, but the main emphasis is going to be on the food. It’s been difficult maintaining both blogs, and I’d really like to be a daily blogger, but I can’t do it with two different blogs.
Where the Hell Have I Been?
I’m here!! I’ve been in a bit of a flurry of activity with my food blog as FoodBuzz asked me to be a Featured Publisher. I was very excited by this and also a bit confused because there a so many better food blogs out there and some of my photography is questionable, but I didn’t really hesistate to participate and then had to sign a four page agreement!!! And Fooduzz put some nice advertising on my site. So I had to move my blog over to Blogspot, as WordPress doesn’t allow advertising. So if you feel like it, visit my food blog and vote for me on FoodBuzz!
I’ve also been keeping up with my writers strike TV programming. I’m seriously enjoying Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. It’s really well done and the story moves along nicely. Same premise as the movie – constantly being chased by a Terminator, but that is still holding up well and is very entertaining.
Cashmere Mafia is still entertaining as well. It’s just all silly nighttime soap fluff, but it’s keeping me busy until Dirty, Sexy Money comes back on (if ever).
We now have that huge time sucker on TV, American Idol. Yay! I still love it. And best news of all – Lost starts again next Thursday – I’m really looking forward to that!
Mercifully we had the season finale of Real Housewives of Orange County. This season was more silly than usual and sort of boring. It think it’s because of Quinn. I just could not stand her and her hypocritical morals. What a stupid, self deluded woman she is. And Lauri’s wedding. Can you even imagine your THIRD wedding being like that? I can’t wait to find out how much it cost. She’s going to spill the beans next week. I’m guessing around $500K including her dress. And everyone else was just totally blah this season. I think it’s a product of being on for three seasons now, they are so much more aware of what is going on and blacklash etc, so that’s why I think they were all a bit reined in.
The most deluded woman of all, Jo De La Rosa showed up at the very end and told everyone that she was working full time finishing her album – hahahahahahahah. That is going to be a huge flop because she cannot sing and I don’t know who these fools are who keep telling her that she can. I hope she makes the talk show rounds, that should be really amusing.
And I have to mention politics – I feel bad for Edwards, who is having trouble getting a look in, even in the debate last Monday – he had to remind everyone that he was still there. The media is totally pathetic the way they are just focusing on Clinton and Obama. Give everyone equal time so people have a chance to see everything. Poor Kucinich dropped out of the race today, and he’s going to concentrate on getting re-elected to Congress. I’m amazed he lasted this long. I’m just hoping that Edwards has a good showing in SC tomorrow, because if he doesn’t I don’t see how he’s going to have the money to stay in the race.
Last but not least, here’s an amaryllis that I’ve been growing since early December. It’s nice to look at when there is snow on the ground outside!

It’s not snowing here….
so at least my blog is having a white christmas!! (only until 1/2)
Mailbag
Since I last updated, not much has happened. I’ve watched two episodes of Real Housewives of Orange County and quite frankly they were so underwhelming, that I can barely remember what happened, except that Colton jumped off a cliff and nothing happened to him. Vicki was loud and obnoxious (she’s still my favourite) and everyone else was just blah. This is not the best season of this show at all. And I can’t stand the new girl, Tamra, what a fool!! So basically I’m disappointed in this season. (Catherine, you should still watch it when it comes to Oz).
I’ve also had a bit of reader mail since I posted about Oprah’s Favourite Things. And when I say reader mail, I mean two comments accusing me of being materialistic and worst still, not liking Josh Groban, and I think accusing me of not being a proud Aussie!!! (which I can’t get over. Just because I say in my sidebar that I became and American does not mean I gave up my Aussie citizenship!!)
This is what I have to say to the Groban lovers. Don’t even tell me that if you had the opportunity to sit in the audience on on Oprah’s favourite things show, you would reject every item brought out to you in the hopes of a Josh Groban CD because you are not materialistic. “No thanks Oprah, I’ll just take the CD”. Of course you would accept everything. Of course you would be jumping up and down like a fool and screaming. Even the Goddess Oprah is being materialistic on this day, and expecting everyone else to be so as well.
And quite frankly – I don’t see how having a bit of fun watching Oprah on TV giving stuff TO OTHER PEOPLE is materialistic!!
And to Edward. I’m a speed reader. I just turned the page and read it before I even noticed
And last but not least – Kathy Griffin has a new stand up special out on Bravo at the moment. It’s call Straight to Hell. She was brilliant in it and her hair looked the best it’s been for ages. You’ll probably be able to find it on Bravo for the next couple of weeks.
The Amazing Race
The best reality show on TV returns tonight at 8pm on CBS!! ( unless of course the football runs over and then it’s anybody’s guess what time it is going to start). We can’t wait. The start date was pushed forward by months I think because Viva Laughlin was pulled off the air becuase only Melanie Griffiths and Antonia Banderas were watching. Viva Laughlin was doomed from the start because it was a direct rip off of Viva Blackpool from the BBC and that was horrendous as well.
I’m so excited to see Phil !!
Rare
I saw someone using a payphone today. I couldn’t tell you the last time I saw that. Probably in a movie.
Threat to National Security?
I have absolutely no idea how Laura Bush could stand in between these enormous, freaky, scary, evil easter bunnies. I would be heading for the hills. Those things freak me out almost as much as the Korean Girls dancing with the big cat heads on. (I am searching for that photo now!! I’ll post it when I find it). My only theory is that they are less frightening than Dick Cheney.

Wooo Hoooo – I Figured It Out!!!
I finally figured it out!!! I have to jump through a ring of fire backwards wearing a blindfold, and whistling the Star Spangled Banner, but it works!! Yay. What I have to actually do is export from Picasa into a special folder, resizing the image to 480 mgpxls or less, and then upload from the folder. I then have the option of putting up a full size , or a thumbnail, which you can then click on to see the bigger image. I have dumped Flickr after a full 48 hours of being annoyed.
